The course of the war is witnessing a shift in the Middle East that may lead to the expansion of the scope of the conflict in the region.
International and regional analysts are concerns with the latest attacks between Israel and Islamic Resistance Movement of Lebanon (Hezbollah), which in Arabic means Party of God. The common questions are where could this war take the region? What is the extent of its impact on the Israeli army and its capabilities?

The course of the war is witnessing a shift in the Middle East that may lead to the expansion of the scope of the conflict in the region. At a time when Israel’s efforts, aimed at eliminating Hamas in Rafah, have begun to largely decline, attention is shifting to the north, away from Gaza. There is a long border line with Lebanon, and the battlefield has begun to take a clearer shape recently, putting the attention in the confrontation between Hezbollah and Israel, which may lead to the implication of Iran – which is preparing to elect a new president.
All these speculations raised fears about the possibility that Gaza could turn into a black hole that will spread extremism in the region, considering that Hezbollah announced that it would not stop attacking Israeli territory until an agreement was reached on a ceasefire in Gaza.
But Netanyahu has not yet engaged with the issue of how to govern Gaza after the war?, while his generals rejected the idea of a military occupation of the Strip because it might cause a drain on the army’s capabilities or at best freeze the conflict in the region. This situation is added to the fact that if Hamas does not survive as a ruling political force, it may continue to pose a threat to Israel.
From the repercussions of launching any attack on southern Lebanon, it is certain that expanding the war represents a danger to the entire region.
The confrontations have continued between Israel and Hezbollah for a long time, and it intensifies since the outbreak of war in Gaza in October.
